It’s no secret that we Central Oregonians live in the heart of adventure land year round. The most beautiful landscapes, the best breweries, more than 23o waterfalls in the state, and we would argue that we also have some of the best people. So if you’re newer to the area, or even if you’re a local… this list is comprised of some of our favorite outdoor adventures during the winter season.
1. Skiing/Snowboarding/Snow Tubing/Snowshoeing/Cross-Country Skiing!!

If you’re looking for something for people of all skill levels and ages you could check out snowshoeing! Not really into flying down a mounting standing up? What about sitting down? Check out THIS LIST that our very own VISIT BEND put together including snowblast tubing at Bachelor, Wanoga Snow Park, and the hill at the SHARC in Sunriver!
Another GREAT option for those who want the workout and feeling of gliding across snow without all of the downhill speeds from the mountaing, is cross country skiing! There are no shortage of rental places, so give it a google and visit a shop where someone can outfit the whole family with some outdoor gear!
2. Looking for something a little more low key and family friendly for the evening? Have any fantasies of twirling under the stars across a frozen rinks of ice? A little romance, hot cocoa, and some nostalgic memories of falling across the ice? Just me? More seriously, if you’re looking for the top spots to get your twirl on or to create some fun new family memories make sure to check out any of the open-air rinks in Redmond or at Seventh Mountain Resort. You can also visit the rink in Sunriver or the full size rink in Downtown Bend!
